Feature request - highlight pedal position

Post by hb1980 »

In the pedal view that shows tight, closed, open 1-6, it would be really helpful if the position was shown in real-time, for example by changing the text colour and fill colour of the box 'handle'.

Isn't this already implemented? Or are you talking about in the Drum Map Editor?

Yes, pedal position is shown per the green region highlight

However, I'm suggesting it may be more intuitive/useful to switch the pedal position text / midi mapping data to the active position.

So for the example below (ignoring the red circle :-) )... with the current behaviour, the actual pedal position is Open 6 (as indicated by the green region) but the manually selected position is tight.

I'm suggesting that when auto select is on, it would switch to open 6 for the white highlight and midi data. And probably highlight the position box (circled in blue) with a white bg.

I'll think about it. Its not as trivial as you might expect, especially if the user is using custom notes and is trying to adjust a note and the pedal moves.

Thanks Rob.

I guess I was thinking that it follows pedal movement whilst the pedal is in use but if it's not then it's possible to switch between the levels manually for doing MIDI adjustments (as it does now) and it only changes again when you start moving the pedal again.

Appreciate implementing that may not be especially straightforward!
