While I use a PD125 and it's great, I can't see any reason why the PD128 wouldn't be just as good.

The PD128 has a slightly improved assembly piezo assembly to help reduce hot spotting. I first saw this on a vdrum tips YouTube video. I did some research on vdrum forum, and there was a way to convert a PD125 with the PD128 piezo assembly. However I think the verdict for this mod was an improvement, but not really worth it unless your application is super sensitive to hot spotting. Key thing to remember these are reviews using the PD128 on a Roland module. I truly doubt with an eDRUMin and hotspot suppression a difference can be discerned.
Check out this new video from eDRUMWORKSHOP. I couldn’t tell a difference between this video and my PD125 performance on eDRUMin.

Later on I this video around the 8:30 mark the hotspot suppression on eDRUMin is shown off.
Check out his old post as well.
