Drum setup ideas with just an eDRUMin4?

Post by etothed »

The 10 isn't in stock and I'm a bit of a minimalist anyway with drum setups. Was just wondering what setup is possible with the 4. I'm using triggers on mesh heads on an acoustic kit and electronic cymbals. And this would be my only drum module for now (sold my TD-11 recently).

I'm guessing: 1 hi-hat (pedal input and 1 trigger input); snare; kick drum; and floor tom. Or I can switch floor tom for ride. Any better suggestions? Can I somehow split an input to get both a ride (don't need bell/edge) and floor tom going into one input? Not a deal breaker if I can't.

You can technically split all of them. Put the snare and bass on one. Put a rack tom and floor tom on the second. Hi-hat and ride on the third. And two crashes on the fourth. After that use the ED4 features, like rim and edge sense, to the max and see if you can get some zones back.

Just be aware when you split an input, for example between two toms, you’ll lose rim shots. Splitting the input basically turns it into two mono inputs but eDRUMin has the ability to pull out other zones using rim and edge sense.

Thanks. That's great to hear. Will try that once I receive the module.

Just want to say that I am blown away by how fast the shipping was. Placed order last Wednesday evening and received it a week later here in New Orleans. I paid the $25 shipping fee. Didn't expect to get it this fast. Super happy.
