Hi Rob,
I am hearing news about things on the downturn there in Taiwan and just wanted to say thank you for all you have done with this great product line.

This may sound corny but I hope and pray all goes well for you and that all of your family, friends, and anybody else dear to you there in Taiwan stays safe and sound. Also hoping and praying that despite circumstances and how things look your business will succeed. You have incredible products that are light years ahead of anything else and you deserve to enjoy the fruits of your work.

Not sure coming to US would be good advice but I'm sure you'd be welcome here!

There's no economic downturn here. Quite the opposite, Taiwan's economy has grown steadily throughout the pandemic. The chip shortage it a global issue, but it will eventually pass.

Thanks for you kind words. I'm not worried about my business. I don't have large overhead costs to account for. The slowdown will just mean I'll have more time to play drums, exercise, and invest in RnD.

I think the OP may be referring to all the noise in the media about China being ready to invade Taiwan.

The pressure from China has been around for many many years.
Most of the locals here are used to it, and don't think too much about it.

Things have increased and seem a bit more serious since they decided to elect their president for life.
The last time that happened, it was Mao, and we all know what happened then.

So yeah, we see China flexing their muscles, and trying to intimidate Taiwan.
Seeing Russia attack Ukraine, many people also see similarities and it could happen here as well.

I have a few friends that are in the army here. They have been on alert because of Chinese planes flybys and ships closing in on outer islands, but they tell me that China will (probably) not do an all out war over here. They think China needs the infrastructures in Taiwan, mainly the chip manufactures and other high tech stuff.

It's a bit sad to see that the two biggest countries in the world think they need even more space.
I, for one, do not understand the power trip.

Hi Rob,

Sorry yes it's what I meant, the saber rattling. (and hi Mylo! hope you're doing well).

There is so much politics in anything anymore. It's all really quite revolting to try to make sense of.

Dangerous combination of incompetence, dogma/belligerence and corruption.
