Hello All,
I was trying to get in touch with Rob which I find difficult (no privat emessages here?). But it's ok, I can understand it.
I am a student in the drum school owned by a known drummer in Poland.
He (the owner) sells also his own drum heads which are produced in Far East (Taiwan I guess).
I am using megdrum personally and I also consider to buy eDrumin, but there is one problem (apart from availability
) - it's hard to estimate it's final cost due to customs and some other taxes probably.
So I just wanted to ask Rob if he would be interested in finding a retailer in Europe; if so, I can put both of you in touch.
SInce I had to create this new topic you guys can also express an interest an support the idea, if you think it makes sense (although, I guess most of you already own edrumin),
Best regards,
GC

The duty for EU countries is VAT. Whether end users pay that directly, or a distributor pays it and buries it into their final cost, it still needs to be paid--and let's not forget that the distributor will want to make a profit as well. The big advantage of using a distributor is that the customer can get the product faster.
That said, I'm already in contact with a distributor for the EU, but I won't go that route until I can secure enough units to meet my own needs first.

My European eDrumin purchase experience:
I'm in the UK. Ordered my eDrumin10 two weeks ago. 9 days later it was here. I was half expecting a bill for VAT and import duty but there were no additional fees. Total cost: £268.21 GBP ($349 US).
If that's how things work elsewhere in Europe, is there any need for a European distributor?

UK customers often get away without paying VAT. France occasionally doesn't charge either, but most EU countries will.

The duty for EU countries is VAT.
I read somewhere the items arrive from Taiwan. If it's true, then customs + VAT, not just VAT,

I've bought some 4-5 units since 2019 and always been charged VAT by german customs, around 65€ for edrumin10 and 25€ for edrumin4, they are ruthless...

Thanks!
You have 19% VAT afaik, we have 23%.
Customs is a different story, depends on how the qualify the item (between 0% up to 12%) ... So as a result you never know...
Regards & thanks,
GC

Hi All,
Finally received the device.
So to summarize the topic for Poland:
- The package was traveling almost 3 months
- The post does the services (customs + VAT) for packages with value between 150 EUR to 1000 EUR
- They send you a form to fill (one page for gifts, the second for bought items)
- Once you fill the form you can scan it and send back by email - then in few (2 or 3) days the package arrives with the calculated amount customs and VAT and you have to pay it at the post office
- In the form you basically fill what's in the package plus the money you've paid plus you have to attach some screenshots (I attached pdfs: email with confirmation of purchase plus confirmation from PayPal)
- I also suggested ISZTAR number 9207 90 90 00
- As a result I paid slightly over 80 USD - the vast majority is VAT 23% (for eDrumin 10 - 349 USD)
- I guess there is no chance to skip this payment anymore, as the post sends the form for every package probably
- The post service for customs and VAT costs 2 EUR - when you choose a courier this cost may be higher I guess
Regards,
GC
