Issues with dual mono bell input

My working setup: eDRUMin 10 rev 1, latest beta.

Lemon 18 ride, set to 3 zone Roland.

Ride 1 on input 9.
Ride 2 on input 10 with stereo cable, bell works really well.

If I change input 10 to dual mono, and introduce a splitter (Stagg one, I have 3 others that work fine for kick+3toms and splash/stack) with the Ride 2 plugged into right, hitting the bell only triggers the ride bow.

Is this a bug, or am I setting this up wrong?

Roland rides have a switch in the bell, don't they?

You cannot use a dual mono (that expects 2 piezo signals) if you have a piezo and a switch signal.

Do the Lemon have a "Yamaha" setting?
If so, you set it to Yamaha 3-zone PCY cymbal in the eDRUMin, plug in only one stereo cable and adjust parameters to taste.

It functions well as Roland 3 zone without the splitter / dual mono configuration. I also thought it was a switch too, but it definitely works.

The dual mono bell was introduced in 1.4 do that the left side wasn't wasted, as only the right is used for the bell.

You should be able to set input 10 to dual mono, but you are going to need some custom wiring because a splitter cable will combine the two 'TIP signals together. You need to combine the RING signal from your ride bell connection with the TIP of another input. Do you see the problem? When I tested this feature, I used two splitter cables, one to split the ride's bell connection into TIP and RING, and another to combine the bell RING and another pad together.

Thanks Rob.

Looking at the bell wiring diagram in the manual, I think I get it.
I'll get out the soldering iron and make something that works with the ring input.
