second hihat with ed10 and SD3

Hello Forum
I want to add a second hihat to my kit I am pretty much making a custom map as well but I was able to get 1 hihat to work calling it cc1 but the second one for some reason does not allow me to select edge trigger/bow Trigger in articulations (greyed out)I think that is what it seems to need when using the cc-mode
so I guess it would be best if I explain what is happening on Hihat 2 if I close it I can hear the pedal close but if I hit the hat and close it it will choke the sound like a cymbal choke ...if I hold the pedal down and hit the hat it still sounds open (so basically the control part is not changing the sound
so is there a way to link the cc-mode to a regular sound? not one that says triggered?.. (I'm thinking not) I would have thought by making the second hihat cc5 or cc6 would have worked or do they only work on cc4 and Hihat 1 is using that? (although Hhihat 1 seems to be triggering under cc1 now. ) so im confused
at worst I can still use note mode right?
