With my ed10 the hihat remains open when starting sd3 and whenever I change libraries, for a moment I thought I had a 2box drumit 3 which had this issue for a couple of years until 2box fixed it...

Is this a bug? Shouldn't the hihat be open? That's the default position of the hihat, and it's seems like SD3 is being reasonable in assuming that the hihat is in the open position when it loads a new library. Surely if you move the pedal though, SD3 starts triggering the hihat correctly?

I just tested. If I press my hihat all the way down and switch libraries in SD3, when the new library opens the hihat is still in the closed position, so I see no issue with the eDRUMin or SD3 in this regards.

I started SD3 with the hihat pressed down and it sounds open, I play the hihat a bit and it’s still open, only after I do a couple of chicks/splashes it triggers correctly.
If I change libraries still with the pedal down I get the open sound. Maybe it’s my mapping that got messed up somehow, I’ll check my sd3 mapping

Confirmed that when initially opening SD3 with the pedal closed, the hihat sounds open even though the pedal is infact not open. However, moving the pedal at all remedies the problem. The reason that this doesn't happen with 2Box is because they always send the CC position before the hit, where as eDRUMin only sends the position when the position changes. Incidentally, the eDRUMin can replicate the 2Box implementation by checking the checkbox "CC only with HIt". Would you think it's advisable to send the hihat CC when the pedal moves and before every hihat hit?

No, I’d leave it like it is right now. Don’t change anything ;-)
What’s strange though is that this didn’t happen before, only with this build.

I'm getting quite a few missed hits on this beta. Managed to capture a screenshot of one.

Any reason why this hit didn't trigger (using SD3):
no hit.PNG
no hit.PNG (318.47 KiB) Viewed 1142 times
Note 'HIT' lit up too.

Looks like the hit was misinterpreted as being over the hotspot. I think I noticed a hit like this yesterday when I was playing. The hit was near the edge I assume? I'll see if I can make a few adjustments.

I almost never change libraries or kits in SD3 (I might swap out a snare once in a while but that’s it) so I don’t think that’s related, and the hihat issue was persistent in build 10. I downgraded to build 9 and it hasn’t come back in 30 minutes of practice.

Absolutely no changes for the hihat from build 9 to 10.
