When I connect the ED4 by itself, all 4 inputs trigger randomly. I use a low Threshold (as low as I can get away with), but this does not happen when I connect the ED4 back to the host port on the ED10.

That's a testimony to how clean and noise free the power supply on the ED10 is! You might notice that the noise drops out when you close the control application. There's a lot of data that gets passed back and forth between the hardware and software which ultimately results in internal noise.monospace wrote:When I connect the ED4 by itself, all 4 inputs trigger randomly. Fixed for the next build.monospace wrote:I'm just noticing some minor cosmetic glitches, most notably the Gain and Thresh display randomly disappearing from the UI. (Without even having used the Calibration feature.)
Should work fine, but again I would avoid the sensor area. Are you seeing troubles?lalo wrote:what about mesh pads with side sensor? I guess the calibration method is optimised for pads with center sensor?
I've thought about doing something like that, but it's a lot of work. I think I'll instead imbed links to YouTube videos to help explain specific features. I just need to find a way to do it elegantly without creating any clutter.MWJT42 wrote:Can the new procedure be written into the UI somehow?

Got it. It did indeed go away without the control app open.Rob wrote:That's a testimony to how clean and noise free the power supply on the ED10 is! I did move some of my inputs to the ED4 (hats, snare, kick, and ride) so I could bring just that unit for use on a small travel kit. Should I bump up the Tresh on those inputs, or does it not matter if the control app is not active?

No, just recalibrated my side mesh pads and I just had to increase the gain a bit, they feel as natural as my center sensor DDT snare which before this update was on gain 5.5 and after it dropped to 3.5 and triggers perfectly.Rob wrote:Should work fine, but again I would avoid the sensor area. - Factory presets will now also send velocity curves.
- Updated Factory Presets
- Updated the manual.
Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
I moved my hihat (cymbal & pedal) to my ED4, copied my old settings, and I’ve been noticing some issues where every once in a while, the “tight” articulation doesn’t seem to get triggered, i.e. I get an “open” sound even though the pedal is “closed.” I played for a bit with the app open on the Pedal Editor, and noticed that the pedal CC curve gets grayed out at random intervals.
This doesn’t happen when I play the hihat itself, but mostly when I play Tom rolls (which are all plugged into the ED10.)

Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
Is 'Auto-Select' on?
Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
I ask because it could be that the 'auto-select' feature is switching to the ED10, so your are seeing the hihat settings for the ED10. Can you reproduce the issue with 'auto-select' off?
Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
You mean, auto-select for the last pad hit? Yes, that was on. Not "auto" for pedal type or polarity, that's been off.
But I see what you're saying, that's probably what that was.
That still leaves me with the "pedal not fully closing" sensation that I mentioned and which wasn't happening on the ED10. It's been mostly fine though, but I'm going to keep an eye on that the next couple of sessions.

Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
I'll move my hihat over to an ED4 aswell and see if I reproduce the issue.
