I would say you still need to dampen the cymbal a bit. Again, you'll need to experiment.

And where do you recommend to place the piezo?

Hi

Thanks for the work you are doing Rob.

Normally we have to make the cymbal work with the manufacturer with no help or advice.

It was very refreshing to see you do what they never do.

One of my customers used some moongel to dampen his ride. I place my piezo where it gets a good trigger but away from bow to avoid too much cross talk.

The choke trigger a sound in your vid, do you know why ? Is it the choke articulation triggered by the choke note sent by eDRUMin ?

You can get it from the 1.3.1 BETA thread.

Yeah, that's the standard Mute Hit articulation, which is what the edrumin sends e-1, with aftertouch.
On a side note, make sure you position the cymbal so you don’t hit it right above the trigger box because it will hot spot there even at low velocities.

This mute articulation shouldn't be used by edrummers, it sounds very unnatural. It's here for those who program their pattern.
Chokes are normally achieved with aftertouch. You should tell edrumin to send aftertouch instead of a note. If aftertouch are filtered by your daw, then there's a box to choose "note on" instead of "aftertouch". S3 has a great feature called mute tail, that make choke to sound very natural. Everything is explain here : https://www.toontrack.com/manual/superi ... bal-chokes

Humm, and then I realized that note on message aren't very helpfull to trigger the mute tail in S3... S3 can only use "note off" instead of aftertouch to trigger the mute tail.
The note on can only be use to trigger the enveloppe, which is useless here...

Then I don't really understand how you guys are able to get cymbal choke to work the way it should with a note on... Using S3, from what I understand, it's impossible.
