eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
Re: eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
Sorry for the big build number jump. Changes in build 14:
Re: eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
I've been using version 2.0.1.5 without problem.
I just went into advanced mode and changed the velocity curves on my hi-hat individually for edge, bow and bell
when I did that, the pedal just started acting weird (would and wouldn't close / open randomly).
I calibrated the pedal again. not fixed.
so I upgraded to 2.1.0.14
it improved the problem a lot but it is still there. it seems that the cc4 signal doesn't always get sent to the eDRUMin module unless the cymbal is struck first. I went out of advanced mode but it still happens.
so if I strike the hi hat with closed pedal, I get closed sound. then, on the next hit, if I open the pedal, sometimes I will get an open sound, but sometimes it will still be a closed sound until I hit it once
also, sometimes, I start playing with a closed pedal but just get an open pedal sound and when that happens it just stays open
It is random - sometimes works ok but sometimes it doesn't
running a lemon 3-zone 15" with a Roland fd9
Mac OS big Sur 11.6.8
SD3 (3.2.7) in Logic Pro 10.7.4
was working perfectly until I went into advanced mode and individuated the velocity curves

Re: eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
Can you please attach screenshots for your pedal and the hihat cymbal?
Re: eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
Thanks for the pics. Follow my suggestions below and let me know if the issue persists.
1. Turn off 'Fast Stepping'. That's probably the main issue.
2. Lower the xTalk control on the pedal editor page. Because the FD-9 is mechanically isolated from the hihat cymbal, you can probably set it to 0.
3. You might want to turn the polarity control on the pedal editor from 'auto' to 'Roland'.
4. Although not required for your setup, you might want to set the pad function for the hihat cymbal to 'Hihat 1 Cymbal'.

Re: eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
thanks Rob. much appreciated
I'll give it a go tomorrow and report back

Re: eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
ok so followed all directions
edge and bell are all good - pedal works fine with both
but it is dodgy with bow hits - mostly doesn't open but will occasionally open
if I leave the pedal open and hit the edge or the bell, then hit the bow, it closes the hi hat
if I watch what's going on in the pedal editor, the behaviour looks fine
just to reiterate, it worked perfectly before I changed to advanced mode and set different curves for the different zones (first time I've done this but long overdue with this cymbal)

Re: eDRUMin version 2.1 BETA
Please use the MIDI monitor to show the issue. That'll let me confirm if the problem is with the eDRUMin or your sampler.
So open the MIDI monitor, press and release the pedal, hit the edge and then hit the bow and then take a screenshot.
