It's possible that it's an issue with editing the metadata. I'll test that later today when I'm home.

I believe that is it. The snare preset I created new worked right after I created it. I just edited the description and then tried to restore from it again. Gain, threshold, channel, notes and Pos were wrong. Everything else restored ok.

Using the overwrite button restores the notes back to the preset after an edit. If that makes sense.

So editing the presets, changing a description or whatever, corrupts the preset. But overwriting it with the overwrite button fixes it back.

I can back up the hotspot issue, I seem to have lost all dynamics? at least for my snare, it seems to be either very quiet of at 127 hits (the other triggers dont have a hotspot issue so I don't use that feature).

Also, if someone can help me use VLC to record video on my screen I'd appreciate it, my hihat issue has not been solved

I think I might need to crack open my box and see if it's a hardware issue

VLC can't do that.
Use https://screencast-o-matic.com

I was looking into this more, and it appears the shape of the tip and the angle at which the tip hits the mesh have a significant effect. Have you changed drum stick recently?

I only have two pairs, I'll try swapping them out and report back.

That said, a different drummer was using it last week, and had his own sticks and still had this issue.

Thanks for the screencast link

I did some more testing and it looks like I'm going to have to make changes to the hotspot suppression algorithm in version 1.3.1. And unfortunately, it'll have to be adjusted whenever changing drum sticks. But on the plus side, I should be able to make it much more precise.
