Those of you using more than 1 edrumin module, how are you finding it?

Have had the second eDRUMin in place now for two days. It solved a problem I didn't quite know I had. The kick, toms and crashes are more expressive now because the playable range is more accurate. In other words when I hit very softly I get even as low as MIDI velocity 1 and as I increase how hard I hit the resulting velocity in Superior Drummer increases evenly. I think before I was getting mostly mid-high to full velocity on the kick and toms, and come to think of it same with the crashes also.

Hi all,
Are any of you using a USB-hub with your multiple eDrumins?
I'm planning on using my MacBook Pro with 3 eDrumins, but unfortunately, this laptop has the USB-C ports, and I was thinking of buying a USB-C to USB-A hub to run my multiple eDrumins, and still have some ports free on the laptop for other peripherals (e.g. an external HD etc.)

Using a hub is no problem in regular operations.
The only trouble is you will need to unplug the hub and run one unit at a time when you update the firmware.

I'm using a D-LINK DUB-H4, 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub - It's and older model that came with a power adapter. It's rock solid with the eDRUMins

I don’t remember how I stumbled onto this one but it is working working for me.

I feel certain It is an OEM that gets rebranded. There are others that look exactly like it with other brand names on it,

I've discovered that the issue with hubs in general for music gear is power. My powered USB hubs are more reliable than plugging directly in, as a general rule (I have 30 different USB devices running).mrantarctica wrote:Hi all,

Hi all, thanks for your responses. It was most helpful. I suspect I will go down a similar route and look for a powered hub. I don't have nearly 30 USB devices to plug in, so I think just a modest 5 ports will do!
The only downside is that I have a Resident Audio T2 sitting around unused. I'd love to use the Thunderbolt connection, but unfortunately it has only 1 Midi in port, and it seems the eDrumin's can't be daisy chained as there is no Midi-Thru . Oh well.

Go for a 7 port, having those extras will come in handy some day I guarantee it.mrantarctica wrote:Polyphonics wrote:

Ha yes 30 devices sound like a lot, 10 for the keyboard rack, 13 for the audio rack and 7 for the edrums. Theoretically, a windows PC should be able to handle 128 connections.
No edrumin cannot be daisy chained, unless it was at the beginning of the chain.
Re: Those of you using more than 1 edrumin module, how are you finding it?
Hi dudes,
with regard to that:
I am using a dumb Millenuim MPS-850 with one eDRUMin.
As I have seen and unterstood the concept of elemination of x-talk,
I contected some more MIDI inputs in the Plogue Bidule software and tadaaaaaa
I saw those yellow signals in the transient window.
The eDRUMin notices the hits to the MPS-pads so on the als eDrumin connected pads I have no x-talk issues.
Nothing.
I mounted a 2nd HiHat CY-5 pad between the 3rd and 4th tom of the MPS and connected it all to he MPS module.
And it's triggering the tom when I hit the cy-5. I tried a few settings, but maybe
I will connect the 2nd hats to the eDRUMin, then there will be silence.
Greetings
Manuel

You got some informations?Polyphonics wrote:
Can anyone confirm how edrumin deals with crosstalk from other modules and vice versa????
