For me... the less I have to think about the better. The ultimate UI/UX is an app that doesn’t need documentation. :D

I like where you’re going with that Mode label.

Does anyone use / want the 'always send on closed' feature? If I got rid of that, I could declutter things a lot.
I deactivated it and I get clean splashes and fast tempo chicks without any artifacts so for me you can get rid of it

However, it's crap (overly sensitive during fast HH foot taps) hence all the work Rob's put into 1.3.
Didn't know that. Do you know if that can be disabled, and how, so I can compare side by side?
You can't disable this behaviour in SD3 unfortunately. The previous 'fix' was just to unload the pedal open articulation, however now with the fast stepping fix, I don't get any splash artifacts any more. If they're still happening, (with the check box ticked) maybe reset your HH CC mapping to default in SD3?

I don't want or use it.

The only reason I added the "Always Send on Closed" feature was because of a comment on vdrums:
I tried using it on a 2Box drumit three and it worked nice, but when I closed the HiHat the sound for "Pedal closed" was still sounding on after I closed it, which did not happen with the Hats plugged into the 2box.
I'm pretty sure this user was referring to slowly closing the pedal and the 2Box module not silencing a ringing open hihat sound. Is this an issue on any other modules? I'll try to do some research.

Here's build 20. I've left the 'always send closed' option in there for now. I do remember a couple people wanting it.

Changes in build 20
  • Cleaned up the hihat layout.
  • Renamed 'stand' to 'impact'
  • Advanced options are now disabled if the pedal / cymbals are not linked.
  • Fixed numeric value display for knobs (broken in build 18).
  • Updated the manual.

Hello Rob,
since build 1.3.015 Hi Hat Splash is not working for me.
With version 14 the splash is easy to archieve

I have Roland Vh-10 Hihat controller, Edrumin 4.
any ideas, settings that should work?

Regards, Peter

I like the changes in 20
  • - The pedal setup is a lot cleaner. Went with the radio button for Mode. Nice.
    - “Impact” works well. Lines up nicely with the text in the manual.
    - Scaler numbers are back. Now I can see what I’m doing again.
