For my hi-hat I use an ATV 14” cymbal sitting on top a VH-11 controller. I have bell sense turned on it it functions really well when hitting the cymbal. But for the life of me I can’t dial out the cross talk from the cymbal to the foot pedal. When pressing the foot pedal for a foot chick I get the bell note as well. If I turn off bell sense it simply switches over to playing a bow note. I set cross talk all the way to 100.
Now this ATV cymbal has that rubber around the mounting hole. That may have something to do with it. I can sit there and just tap the pedal causing no movement in the controller and trigger a bell sound.
Rob, I have no envy of you right now. Lots of empathy, but no envy. Let me know if I can do anything testing wise. I’m here for you buddy.
eDRUMin 1.3 BETA now available (again)
Re: eDRUMin 1.3 BETA now available (again)
If there's no movement of the pedal, then there's no information available to perform any sort of crosstalk cancellation.
For my VH-10 and VH-13, I'm unable to tap the pedal without it moving. How are you performing this tap?

Re: eDRUMin 1.3 BETA now available (again)
I’m tapping it like I’d tap my foot on the floor to a good beat. Upon further review there is slight movement. But that is just an example of how easily it is to trigger the bell note when I press the pedal down. The bell note triggers almost immediately when the cymbal starts moving down when I’m doing foot splashes.Rob wrote:If there's no movement of the pedal, then there's no information available to perform any sort of crosstalk cancellation.

(Yeah I know... foot splashes again. I sent you some more videos)
Re: eDRUMin 1.3 BETA now available (again)
Back on build 17.
(I figured out the problem last night. I was messing with the Macro Controls in SD3, and my external controller device was hijacking CC4. Really wish there was a way in SD3 to control the Macros on a different channel than the drum triggers. Pshaw.)
Anyway. I'm noticing a distinct double "chick" sound on the hihat that wasn't there in previous builds. If I perform it real fast, it's not there, but anything less than lightning quick will trigger the chick note twice in rapid succession. Splashes also have this issue: chick sound first, then splash sound, but it's less obvious because of the splash.
I enabled/disabled the three checkboxes, one by one (I never really use them) but that didn't seem to make a difference.

Changes in build 18
As I attempted to trigger the splash sooner, I realized that my splash sensitivity control was no longer able to set it's threshold accurately enough, so in build 18 I've adjusted its resolution. In order to trigger splashes with this build you will likely need to increase the value of the control.
P.S. This will take care of your double chick as well, Monospace.
- Fixed minor issues updating on macOS.
- Rolled back some changes to make it easier to trigger splashes.
- Added more resolution to the splash sensitivity control. You will definitely need to make adjustments.

Disregard this at the moment. Let me get build 18 and see what happens.Mylo wrote:I’m tapping it like I’d tap my foot on the floor to a good beat. Upon further review there is slight movement. Until someone can show me a video of the circled note (splash) on the foot controller flashing yellow or red when they do a foot splash I will argue that splash is not working.
I can’t get a splash to trigger no matter what I try.

Indeed it does. Excellent.Rob wrote:In order to trigger splashes with this build you will likely need to increase the value of the control.

I didn't even need to change the value of the control.

I think that's probably just a UI issue. I don't get the light either but my splash is definitely working. Do you actually see a splash note in your VST MIDI monitor? I have SD3 and the splash note is 23 (B-1) and I never see a 23 in the SD3 MIDI monitor.monospace wrote:I think that's probably just a UI issue.
