Redesigning the pedal input interface.
more control over my HH would be welcome, although I'm pretty happy with it as is.
So I'm not sure what I'm missing yet. But the list of enhancements all sound great, thanks.

I'm probably about 2 weeks out from having a new BETA available. It's going to be version 2. Loads of new stuff to try out. Splash / Pedal detection is simplified and much improved, so much so that I was able to remove a couple controls that were needed before to prevent things from behaving erratically. After updating you will likely want / need to make small adjustments for everything to run smoothly.

After updating, your pads will be setup to 'Note Banks' which is how things work right now, but you'll be able to easily switch to using the device drum map instead. New devices will have their inputs set up 'Drum Map kit pieces' by default. I'm not sure how many of those other pad functions I will end up including. Most still need a lot of UI work to be fleshed out completely.

Drum Maps will let you easily switch between triggering different applications without a lot of fuss, and more importantly, if someone creates a map for use in a given application or expansion pack, another user can use that same map on their system--even if their inputs are setup differently,
The drum map can be edited in the input / pedal editor, but can also to edited directly from the preset manager. Drum maps can be duplicated and kit pieces / hihat settings from one drum map can be dragged and dropped onto another drum map for easy maintenance. I don't think I will allow for naming kit pieces, but I will try implement something to adjust the images--perhaps only for the percussion and user defined pieces that are shown along the side and top.

Do you have an update on shallow rimshot functionality? Last I remember you had concerns on reliability and you needed GUI real estate for a new articulation.

+1 more

also another vote for shallow rim shots if they can be implemented

and a request for videos on setting up v2. I'm sure you are planning these anyway, but I've always found your videos indispensible as someone who tinkers with / sets up the kit/module/software too infrequently to remember the process

Hey Rob,

I see that you have some cool new icons for inputs. Will we be able to assign an icon for a kick drum, for example, as opposed to a generic side trigger (which looks like a snare currently)?

Thanks for the continued improvements. We really appreciate it!

The drum with the dot is the kick drum…. The dot is a vent in the head I assume. You can see it in the drum map window.

When an input is assigned as a 'drum map kit piece', then the icon for that particular piece will be displayed in the input selectors at the top of the UI. If an input is set to Note Banks, then the icon for the pad type is displayed (which is how it works in version1.6). I will likely allow the images for the 4 user defined kit pieces to be changed, but that still needs to be implemented.
