Which headphones/Audio Interface do you use?
Re: Which headphones/Audio Interface do you use?
Aaah ok, got it
Re: Which headphones/Audio Interface do you use?
Speaking of interfaces. Do any of you run the edrumin to your interface and then interface to computer? Can you use the controller app still or do you need to have it connected straight to the computer via usb? I’d like to run it through my interface because it sounds so much better with headphone of the Scarlett plus I can listen to music from my phone through it while I play.
Re: Which headphones/Audio Interface do you use?
My audio interface is a rackmounted Tascam US16x08. 16 inputs (because I record guitars and vocals as well, and I like not having to plug/unplug anything), 8 outputs. Two of those outputs are going to a small 4 channel mixer next to my kit, to combine with other inputs (ipad, metronome, etc) and from there into a small 4 channel headphone amp. One of those outputs goes into a small subwoofer amp to drive a Buttkicker, the others go to a pair of KZ ZS10 Pro in-ear monitors (really cheap, and really good) and a pair of Sennheiser HD 380 Pros. I switch between those two headsets depending on my mood— and the weather.
Miscellaneous Roland triggers. ED-10 + ED-4. MacBook Pro (2015), 16G RAM, Big Sur. Superior Drummer 3. Logic Pro.
Re: Which headphones/Audio Interface do you use?
Not entirely sure why anyone would do this, (presumably that is an audio interface with midi in, or a separate midi interface? )AKA Wayne wrote:Do any of you run the edrumin to your interface and then interface to computer?
The USB connection offers 2 things:
1. Midi connection to computer.
2. Edrumin controller
Without a USB connection, you don't have access to the control program. This is a feature, so you can run the edrumin already programmed direct to a midi in of anything, without a laptop at all.

Headphones: Sennheiser HD280
IEM: KZ ZS10 Pro
The HD280s sound good with my Behringer UMC204HD
The KZs sound even better. There's something about they way they sound for edrums, just right.

I’ve got the kz s10 pros in a box. I guess I ought to try them out.

I guess you’re right. I guess I was just hoping to not use a hub. I need three usbs with the ssd, edrumin, and interface but the MacBook only has two.MWJT42 wrote:Not entirely sure why anyone would do this, (presumably that is an audio interface with midi in, or a separate midi interface? )AKA Wayne wrote:Do any of you run the edrumin to your interface and then interface to computer?

Presonus Quantum 2 - one of the fastest out there. I've been all over the place with headphones but keep coming back to the ATH M50x.

Just make sure you get a good seal. It is absolutely crucial that no outside sounds get through, or you’ll lose the bass response and everything sounds like *ss. The rubber tips it comes with are garbage. I’ve tried both flanged tips and foam tips; I personally prefer the foam.AKA Wayne wrote:I’ve got the kz s10 pros in a box. I guess I ought to try them out.
