Rob,
Do you think the FIELD people would let you borrow one for a while? Might be beneficial to them that their cymbal works well with the eDRUMin. I ask because their design is different and may work a little better edge and hot spot wise.

Ha! Well, in that case, I guess it's working really well. Because everything is nice and even.Rob wrote: Confirmed bug. The hotspot on/off button isn't working. It's always on. The work around is to turn the suppress control all the way down.
You said we might need to adjust settings; would you say the controls are more sensitive, or less?
Miscellaneous Roland triggers. ED-10 + ED-4. MacBook Pro (2015), 16G RAM, Big Sur. Superior Drummer 3. Logic Pro.

I think most people will need to increase the thresh control, but it depends on so many different factors. The best strategy is follow the advice in the manual:
turn the Suppress control to zero. Hit the pad about halfway between the center and the edge. Adjust the thresh control so that those hits aren't lighting the green meter in the thresh control. Next hit around the sensor and adjust the Suppress control to even out the hotspot.

Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
I'm getting some reports of issues with positional sensing on low velocity hits over the sensor. Working on it...
Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
Someone with both an ED4 and ED10 can check the snare triggering on the ED4 with the 1.3 stable firmware? I remember Rob said there are slight differences in triggering that aren’t yet reflected on the ED10.
Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
Changes in build 2
- More positional sensing tweaks
- Fixed the broken hotspot suppression button
Re: eDRUMin version 1.3.1 BETA
Indeed, it is fixed.I think this should resolve many low velocity positional sensing issues.
Enjoy your weekend!

Check the Support email before you go and see if you are interested in that email I sent you on FIELD.Rob wrote:Changes in build 2I'm taking a break for the weekend. I think this should resolve many low velocity positional sensing issues.

I'll take your word for it but why is this the case when we have a PCY option available?Rob wrote:Not possible.Polyphonics wrote:EDIT: Rob, please can we have an option for a metal cymbal that uses 3zone Yamaha wiring?
I have also found this so I started customising my cymbals as I have the same ones. If you move the sensor to the back (so that the switches are on the other side of the peizo) then there's no hotspot and better dynamics. I've also tried replacing the switches with myrk/Adams design which sits on top of the cymbal and works much better, rather than underneath and relying on cymbal warping as opposed to direct hits.Rob wrote:They are noisy, have poor edge switch sensitivity, and have hotspotting issues close to the censor. At least that's my experience with the Jobeky 18" ride I was gifted.
When I've finish them I'll be happy to mail a custom cymbal to you if you want?

Could you help with where 'back' is please?!Polyphonics wrote:

My language for a circle, that spins, would be bottom, top, centre (bell) and edge...
Unless, we're talking about a non-spinning cymbal so 'back' would be the semi-circle half furthest away from the player..? I'm completely lost. Rob also mentioned the 'front' and 'back' in another thread and I couldn't work out where he meant!
Just trying to understand as I'm starting my LV conversions, so far I've just added a single piezo on them all to get going, and seeing what I can get away with. So far, very little... Maybe just the 10" splash, but setting it to trigger edge only.
And yeah, I will definitely be looking at a top edge switch (under the rubber, feeding the contacts through a drilled hole in cymbal to the bottom), as I've watched tutorials saying the bottom just doesn't work, despite being the more aesthetically pleasing!
