Mylo, what usb hub are you using to connect the 4 eDrumin modules to?Mylo wrote:...
3. I built up a little case to hold my devices and it really doesn’t take up any more room than my two MegaDrums. Square centimeter wise it is probably less.
4. Cables... In order to run my MegaDrum software side by side with SD3 I had to have the USB cable and a Mio USB-to-MIDI cable connected and have all the inputs and outputs set correctly in all the software. So two cables for the MegaDrum times two MegaDrums is four cables. Four eDRUMins with one USB cable each is four cables... same number of cables.

Thanks for the photos, how did you make the box?
I think I will go down the eDRUMin route instead of MegaDrum behaving seen people with experience of both.
I still want to avoid a drum module if I can.
The kit will comprise of:
10×8 dual zone rack tom
12×9 dual zone rack tom
16×16 dual zone floor tom
14×5.5 dual zone snare drum
22×18 bass drum
10 inch Splash
14 inch Hi Hat
18 inch China
18 inch Crash
20 inch Ride
Cowbell
Either Jobeky or Diamond Electronic Drums.
So, how many modules can I get away with, what cables do I need and can I use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface (0.4ms latency) as my audio interface to connect to the PC?

I just picked up something off Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/LYFNLOVE-Splitte ... B072LW1RGGOftheSeven wrote:Mylo, what usb hub are you using to connect the 4 eDrumin modules to?

Minimum 2 but that would be single zoning a lot which I’m guessing you don’t want to do. I had to make assumptions on the number of zones on your cymbals.TheJay wrote: 10×8 dual zone rack tom

14 inch Hi Hat
18 inch China
18 inch Crash
20 inch Ride
Cowbell
Here is one way to do it with 3:
Device #1
1. 10×8 dual zone rack tom
2. 12×9 dual zone rack tom
3. 16×16 dual zone floor tom
4. 14×5.5 dual zone snare drum
Device #2
1. 22×18 bass drum/Cowbell
2. 10 inch Splash/18 inch China
3. 14 inch Hi Hat
4. 18 inch Crash
Device #3
1/2. 20 inch Ride
2 open inputs
Assumptions: bass, cowbell, splash and China are all single zone so they can be split. Ride is a 2 jack variety and will need two inputs.
Another option:
Device #1 (everything here would split the jacks and be single zone but on the toms you may be able to get the rim back using Edge sense but remember... edge sense just gives you the rim back and not a full dual zone center, rim, rimshot... I think.)
1. 10×8 dual zone rack tom/12×9 dual zone rack tom
2. 22×18 bass drum/16×16 dual zone floor tom
3. 10 inch Splash/Cowbell
4. 18 inch China/18 inch Crash
Device #2
1. 14×5.5 dual zone snare drum (all zones)
2. 14 inch Hi Hat (bow/edge assuming dual zone)
3/4. 20 inch Ride (bell/bow/edge assuming 3 zones with two jacks)

Re: Not enough inputs, is another version being produced? I need 15 inputs!
That's a great help, thanks.
How about how it all connects to the PC? Also, would that audio interface be suitable for low latency feed from drums and cymbals to PC?

Sorry... forgot about that last question. Here is my setup.... trigger/pad => eDRUMin => USB hub => Scarlet 2i4 => PC, all connected using USB cables. I’m no latency expert but from what I can determine I’m in 9-12ms... I think. 3ms coming from eDRUMin and about 6.5ms coming from the interface, etc. I do know when I hit my snare, the sound in my ear seems instantaneous. My headphones and amp plug into my 2i4.TheJay wrote:That's a great help, thanks.

Also note.... with the right ride... think Roland... you may be able to use one jack with Bell Sense. Someone else will have to chime in on how well that works because I have no experience. I tried Bell Sense with my Jobeky 3 zone ride and it didn’t go well.
And another note: you’ll have extra foot controller jacks... get creative.

Ah, for three eDRUMin modules I would need to get a different version?
I've read that singers can complain about 4ms difference and others who use electronic drums say they can't deal with more than 8ms.
I'm guessing if it had been a problem you would have already done something about it.
What PC hardware have you got?

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 330S running Windows 10. I have the Scarlet audio drivers installed as well. Don’t use the Windows audio drivers.TheJay wrote:Ah, for three eDRUMin modules I would need to get a different version?

I don’t get these 4ms claims or even 8ms. I call BS on this. I’d have to see proof. It is generally accepted that two hits within 10ms will be perceived as one hit by our ears/brain. Now granted there may be some exceptional people out there but 4ms? That’s pretty dang fast hearing. But I’m opened to being educated.
I should video myself with my phone with sound from my amp and let’s see what happens.
