I can now report that the bell sense works flawlessly with the 18" ATV ride cymbal. It's indistinguishable from the cymbal setup with two jacks. The bell zone ends literally dead on the edge of the bell. Zero bell triggering from the bow anywhere. It works way better than what you video shows with the cy15r.
I'll try the 16" ATVs next.
If they work as well I just gained another 4 percussion triggers!
Plus... while I love the look of my Jobeky metal cymbals they are loud. I did a little video the other day trying to learn something and I realized just how loud they were and how they cut through the actual drum sounds coming out of the amp. I’ve been searching for some actual decibel comparisons for the ATV but haven’t found any. The sound comparisons where they compare side by side to a Roland are kind of worthless. What if I don’t own a Roland? What I need is an actual measurement of decibels. Something quantitative so I can compare it to something I have here at my house.
