Question for Rob. Could the USB ED10 host input ever be used for a digital pad?!? Like the Roland snare or VH14

(...) Special projects aside, for me the ATV 14"hats work very well with edrumin and SD3. I would post some configuration info maybe on another thread if anyone is interested. I'm using the notes mode in combination with CC so its fairly complex. (...)
I'm strongly interested in this configuration info. Since I'm using a mix of Roland and ATV cymbals, esp. the ATV Hats, I'd also like to get my Mac working properly with ED10/SD3 .

Thx in advance

They're already supported, although only in Roland's limited fashion, which means no positional sensing.
Understood, that is, that one can plug in a VH14D into an eDrumin 10, and it would send bow, edge and cc4 data, like any other class compliant USB device.

That said, Rob, is it even possible for you to capture, via the USB connection from the VH14D, the same positional information that Roland does within the TD27/TD50 convert that to MIDI data in the eDrumin 10 and send those as MIDI data to a VST (e.g. SD3)?

I say this because you have enabled the capture of analog positional information from an analog snare. I assume that Roland transmits analog positional information over the USB connection cable, where it is interpreted by the module and converted to MIDI data for sending to other devices as such (e.g. a VST) Properly implemented, a TD27 or TD50 with a VH14D can send bell and R/L signal data to SD3 via MIDI, so I'm wondering if the eDrumin could do the same. Perhaps it's a hardware issue, where Roland uses some of the pin connections within the USB cable to send analog positional data to a Roland module (where it can be interpreted and converted to digital positional data), but your eDrumin USB pin connections simply may not be able to receive analog data. Is this Correct?

Thanks for listening.
