On the vdrums forum there is a guy named Nick74 that is a wiz at Addictive Drums. I think he has some sort of hack for HH and AD. I know he uses eDRUMin in the past.
TD-17KVX, PD-125BK snare, PDX-100 Tom, PDX-12 Toms, PDX-8 Toms, CY-5 splash, CY-15R ride, CY-13R China. eDRUMin 10 with TD-17 slave module. MacBook Pro (16gb RAM and 1TB SSD). SSD5.5 and EZD2. Abelton Live.

When I am trying to play a groove with the hi hat, I find it when I tyr to plauy any of the in between open and closed articulations, so trying to play the hi hat half open, doesnmt really work - well it does but it gives this jittery sound because the pc is constantly switching up and down between different mid open articulations.
What hihat controller are you using, and can you post a pic of your hihat settings?

Yeah, I can do but iv sorted it now!

I'm using a SUPER CHEAP millenium MPS-750 hi hat pad/pedal and stand actually for that matter!

It was the fact that I didnt have CC only with Hit selected I think. I wiped the setting, replugged it in and it was still jittery.
I changed the hi hat mode to level;s and selected CC only with hit and bang it worked.

Im not sure if it was the levels or the cc only button but either way its good.

I don't know much about your hihat controller, bit you shouldn't be having jitter issues. Is it stepped? Or is it a continuous transition from open to close?

Honestly, I don’t even know what that means! I don’t really know anything about it. (As I said I have fixed the issues so I’m not really bothered!)
All I know is that it’s a single zone pad and the HH controller is actually built into the pad on the bottom. I honestly have no idea how it’s hard it together or if it uses an FSR or other method.
I know the controller didn’t work on any Alesis modules I used, the pad did work so I just used it with the alesis HH underneath.

Oh also, to the guy who’s Alesis pedal broke. Is it a seperate foot pedal like the one that came with the DM10? I have a spare one if you needed it? I know how annoying it is when something breaks and you don’t have a spare. I climbed over my kit the other week to grab something and when I got back to the right side of it I realised my rise had broke ( that’ll serve me right for using my kit as a climbing frame!) If you wanted me to send it to you just send me a PM anf we’ll work something out. I used to have a Roland fd7 or I seem to remember the name FD-8 but I may have made that up! Either way, I noticed the Roland pedal was much more robust than the Alesis one. Is there a different reason you are wanting the Alesis one? I’m just curious as most people go for Roland over Alesis but u seem to be the other way round!

I do have a Goedrum HH controller as well but it’s a bit unsteady and bodged when I put it underneath the millenium pad so now I have fixed the jittering I am saving the goedrum controller for making my own LV triggered hi hats. I know it works and have used it but don’t think it’s any better or worse than the millenium one atm. Although I must admit I didn’t test it for that long. When I have my LV cymbal set I will obviously test it properly. I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a dud when I plugged it in.
I must admit, I wish my HH was bigger. I find it really hard to get the HH stand in the right place so that it’s comfortable for my foot as well as comfortable for my right hand to cross the left and hit the pad.
I don’t know if it’s bad technique or bad HH placement that’s making me find it hard but I’m confident a bigger HH(14”) would make quite a bit of a difference. I never noticed having this problem on an acoustic kit I had a while back and I was using 14” paisley 101 hi hats back then.

Anyway, thanks Rob and it to ‘loosesends’ just let me know if you wanted to use that Alesis pedal.
