New excited user

Post by Kirk »

Hey guys -
New eDrumin user here and just wanted to share a couple of things that I'm super happy about. It might be redundant (sorry)...I haven't really explored the forum yet.
I use a hybrid kit in my top40 cover band in order to cover all the crazy sounds, percussion, etc. as we are very anti-tracks / loops and prefer to play everything live. I use an SPD-SX for my main source and have four external pads connected directly to it which are on a stand at the front of the stage and are played by various singers who help me out with percussion and whatever sounds I'm not able to cover myself.
Since the external pad inputs are taken up by those pads, I have always used a clunky old Roland TMC-6 midi converter to attach my three external pads and kick trigger on my kit. In total, I have 7 external pads and a kick trigger.
1 - The eDrumin works flawlessly with Roland pads, kick trigger, and the SPD-SX. Dialing in the midi mapping was a piece of cake with the app.
Worth noting that using the BT1 preset for my kick trigger rather than the external trigger preset gives me the desired result without having to mess with any settings.
2 - In the interest of simplifying my setup, I was curious if the SPD-SX would power the eDrumin via the USB port on the back...and it does!

Really excited to have found the eDrumin. Such a perfect little unit that I can leave attached to my drum rack and is so easy to configure. No more worrying about what I'm going to do when my TMC-6 finally stops working :)
