lemon cymbals
Re: lemon cymbals
I’ve seen some of the reviews and it’s looking good. But I’m gonna wait til Rob confirms it plays nice with eDrumIn before I take the plunge.

Just got this in my inbox, DigitalDrummer Magazine's review of the 18" ride:

Re: lemon cymbals
Hi, do you know, did they rename the 16" cymbal to 15"?
On ALIBABA I just find 15" and 18" ... what about the 16"

What about lemon pad instead?
Re: lemon cymbals
I got my 18" Lemon cymbal today. Haven't really used it yet. I just took it apart to see what going on under the hood. It's wired almost exactly the same as a Roland Ride (piezo / switch / switch). Use the Dual Zone cymbal pad type of Roland 3-Zone ride.
Bell is pretty sensitive. Edge only triggers reliably when you hit the top surface of the edge, unfortunately. Interestingly. it looks like the bell switch might have a 10K resistor on it, so it might be possible to combine the two switches and use the Yamaha pad type (although I'm pretty sure Yamaha has the 10k resistor on the edge switch).

But the switch sits on the top of the surface ...
I only knew the low cost Alesis/Medeli/Fame cymbals.

Re: lemon cymbals
I had a Roland TD-3 Set before with Roland CY-8 Cymbals, and in my opinion the triggering of the Edge was far more superior/sensitive on low velocity hits.
You could really hit them on the Edge, not on the top of the Edge. Maybe it has to do with the rubbering of the CY-8.
But I don't have them anymore to do an A-B comparison. Maybe my memory is tricking me.
