Hi. I’m thinking of getting an eDRUMin 10 to replace my Roland TD10 module which is now 20+ years old, and which I’m only using to trigger midi these days. My thinking is that the eDRUMin would give me extra functionality like positional sensing, and would just improve the all round playing experience through a VST. Does this seem like a solid idea or am I expecting too much? I mean I’m still gonna be using the same old pads and cymbals....would the difference be obvious or minimal?
Thanks everyone

This is a fantastic application for the eDRUMin. Yes, it will give you positional sensing, great triggering control, hot spot suppression, fantastic hi hat control, and more.

The one thing I might add is to check the condition of your trigger foam cones. They should be supple/flexible with little to no signs of wear and protrude above the bearing edges by about 1/8" or so using a straight edge (ruler). They should be in top condition for any module or pad controller to perform well.
Re: eDRUMin with Roland TD10
I had a TD-9 up until June last year. Cool box, but mainly for triggering SD2 and SD3. Figured I'd get an ED4 just for hats, snare and ride, see if it would make a difference. Long story short: I went and got an additional ED10 a week later, and sold the TD-9.
Yes, I kept all the same triggers.
(No, wait, I got a couple more.)
You have been warned.

Great stuff! Thanks to both of you. I’m gonna go for it. Doesn’t seem like something I’ll regret, and the support and updates seem to be good so I won’t be left high and dry. Now I just need to order it and wait the 10 days for it to be shipped to the UK. Damn it I’m too excited now. Need to lie down
