How does edge sense work?
It can work on a drum with just a single trigger right?
Edge sense
Re: Edge sense
Yes, it was designed to work with a single piezo. How well it works depends on the construction of the pad. It works really well with mesh pads.
Re: Edge sense
Alright.
I wonder how it can work with one piezo.. is the "difference" being registered between the two impact shapes somehow?
I thought a piezo was a simple thing with one simple signal

Re: Edge sense
A signal is anything but simple. eDRUMin does waveform analysis and that let's it do some special things like edge sense, bell sense, and positional sensing.
Re: Edge sense
edge sense works so well that even my zidljian 8" low volume splash with one single trigger can do it
Re: Edge sense
It's quite amazing.
Thanks for your work Rob

Re: Edge sense
Hold up, what pad type have you set this up with? Edge sense is not available on metal cymbal type, as Rob said it's not possible...lalo wrote:edge sense works so well that even my zidljian 8" low volume splash with one single trigger can do it
Just bought 6 Myrk edge switches...but I'm an input short due to the 3 zone ride needing 2 inputs (the bell can't share dual mono for some reason...), but edge sense on my china or stack might solve this.
Re: Edge sense
I set it up as dual zone cymbal and mono input mode.
