Something's definitely wonky though. I can edit some settings and play for a minute or two to make sure things are where I like them, and yet as soon as I unplug the cable, the settings are lost.

And yet another thing I noticed, which seems kinda big: when I quit the control application, then come back in, my device is recognized, but none of the pads are. I have to update the firmware *every time* I start the app. None of my settings are lost though, and after I "reset the firmware" the app functions as expected. I've attached screenshots.

When I start the app:

What version of macOS are you using and are you using a USB hub?

The reason your pads don't show up is because the application hasn't received a 'device status' packet. It's possible that the packet arrived before the control application started looking for it.

Reinstalling the firmware 'fixes' the problem because after a firmware update, the device resends its 'device status' packet. I'll try to reproduce the issue today, but I advise against constantly updating the firmware to try to fix the problem.

If you signup up for an iOS app called 'TestFlight, I can let you try version 1.2 of the iOS app. If you're interested, email me your appleID to support at audiofront dot net.

Sent you an email.

Is there another way to receive this "device status packet" besides updating firmware? I tried waiting, plugging/unplugging, but to no avail.

FWIW, if I connect using iOS, I do not have this problem, but between the sluggish UI and the random quitting that's not of much use to me right now.

Aside from these issues, I'm able to tweak my trigger settings just fine and I gotta say, the device is a dream. Cheers.

I was able to reproduce your issue by doing the following:

1. Connect 9v power supply.
2. Connect to iOS device.
3. Run the iOS control application
4. Unplugged the USB without closing the control application and without disconnecting the 9v
5. Plug the device into the macOS machine.

Result: Device doesn't send it's 'device status' packet over the USB connection.

Workaround: disconnect the 9v power and USB when switching between iOS and macOS.

I should be able to come up with a proper fix.

That hadn't occurred to me but yep, that works. So for now, I'll disconnect the power supply when editing, and re-connect when I'm using it with the TD-9. Thanks!

I got the same "uninitialized" startup screen just now, but then I noticed the firmware was updated to .15 as well?
Applied it and all is back to normal.
