Now that I have my 2nd eDRUMin in place it dawned on me that the pedal input is a full fledged MIDI Expression. You edrummers here might not realize the value. I first learned of the MIDI Expression from Neil Durant of the progressive rock band IQ, he recommended it for people who needed an extra expression pedal for their keyboard rig.
I was surprised when I plugged my old DIY double switch pedal (two singles screwed into a non skid plate) and the pedal input automatically recognized it as a dual switch. In minutes I was switching up and down kit presets via my Cantabile host software with just a tap of a switch to the right of my kick pedal.
OK, a pair of 8 input models would be pretty awesome but nothing bigger than that.

When I first started developing MIDI Expression, it was just supposed to be a way to get hihat pedal data into DSP TRIGGER (a VST drum program that I was developing back then). As I started to build it though, I realized that it could be so much more. And now, six years later, and armed with a lot more knowledge, it is pretty satisfying to finally bring together everything I learned from MIDI Expression and DSP TRIGGER. Basically everything I've learned in the past 10 years is poured into eDRUMin. It's a pretty powerful MIDI beast.

In complete agreement, the one word I would use to describe the eDRUMin experience is "musical". (back to edit - maybe "expressive")Rob wrote:It's a pretty powerful MIDI beast.
