Powering the eDrumin externally
Re: Powering the eDrumin externally
I understand that a 9v DC power supply is suggested for external power...however, I can't find anywhere that shows what the polarity is supposed to be. It's not printed by the jack on the enclosure, and I don't see it anywhere in the manual either??? So, is the center pin on the DC jack positive or negative?
Re: Powering the eDrumin externally
From the FAQ:
-What voltage does the DC jack on the back of the unit support.
Anything between 6V and 12V should be fine. The device draws about 60ma of power, so you won't need anything too powerful. Please note that the device uses the BOSS style of DC jack wiring, where the center pin is negative.

is 500mA ok?
thanks

excellent. thanks
Re: Powering the eDrumin externally
Having some issues powering the eDRUMin with a power supply. Theoretically one of these two should do the job, but I somehow can't keep to get the device to power up (no LEDs light up, no signal when hitting a pad).
It somehow works fine if I use another supply which has an adapter (plugged a USB-B on it), which I assume is also fine?
This one says 5V 3A / 9V 1.6A / 12V 1A.

Re: Powering the eDrumin externally
eDRUMin uses Roland style adapters that are center negative. Both those adapters shown are center positive. And yes, powering the device via the USB is fine.

Hello everybody,I want to make a wireless drum and I was wandering how to power the edrumin with a portable solution, 9v battery or usb power bank. Did anyone tried these ?
Thank you !
Thank you !
