Rotary Encoder wiring

Post by mprinz »

Hi folks,

I soldered it together as shown in the manual and it worked fine, really cool and useful feature extension!
I only used the 10k Ohm resistor, but I guess I will add some capacitors to smooth the signals. I occasionally got some
jumps when rotating.
In your video you showed the PCB with Cs. May you tell me the values of those?
...
I just checked the video again. It's 10 nF) connected in parallel with Signal A and Signal B to ground, and the mentioned
pull-up resistor on the switch contact.

I was a bit confused because these Arduino encoders mostly come with 5 pins ...
And I was ... huh ... TRS -> 5 pins ... :?:

Greetings

The 10 nF caps help remove some bounce. I'm not using a conventional way of writing an encoder, as I only had two signals to work with.
