Feature Request - Input labels

Post by Cafo »

Hi all, hoping this is something that doesn't break any rules on the forum, but firstly what a great piece of kit and software the edrumin range is. I have a 10 and 8 powering a mix of alesis, lemon, roland and ATV. All working very well!

I have a feature request for Rob, it's the one thing on a UI level that I have been absolutely certain would be an improvement. Custom labels (names) and icons for inputs on the units. This would help massively as my top bar of inputs is a lot of pads and generic cymbals. If I could label these, Kick, Snare, Tom 1, Splash 1, Splash 2 etc. navigation would be easier, as well as moving kit pieces around or setting back up.

Thanks to Rob for continuing to maintain and make these fantastic interfaces!

Maybe in the future, this could even be something that allows drag and drop of inputs to swap round the layout if you haven't quite plugged everything in the right port... 8-)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm assuming you aren't using drum maps and kit piece images. You should definitely check that out because it clearly identifies what a particular pad is triggering.

The topic of input labels has come up before and it's not something I will implement because it's an incredible waste to extremely precious on device memory.

I could possibly allow users to assign kit piece images to their pads even when using Custom Notes. Perhaps that would help.

Ah I understand! No I have not used the kit pieces I just create custom notes... Will look into that thanks :)

I think what you suggest, as the images are already on the device could be a great addition.

Thanks

I read Rob's reply and I would still second this request. It would just be a text label, how much memory would that take? Kit/piece images alone are not enough, that just shows me a bunch of similar looking pads without being able to discern between makes and models. And I don't have time or inclination to make my own,
