Bell Sense for Lemon Cymbals

From what I’ve read so far, Bell Sense does not work well for Lemon cymbals. Are there any plans to add support for them? I currently have an Alesis 16” ride cymbal (from a DM10X kit) and have managed to get Bell Sense working pretty well with it. However, I’d like to replace it with a Lemon 15” ride.

Hi Matt,

This has been discussed many times on this forum. The simple answer is that adding Bell Sense support for Lemon cymbals is not feasible.

The Lemon ride's typically have 3 zone dual output though (Unfortunately mine came with a non-working second output...). As long as you don't mind using two inputs on your eDrumin, you should be fine.

I just tried the Lemon 18" ride and had the same issue, with no output from the second output. I returned it through Amazon. Should I assume it was a lemon Lemon? I know the Lemon design works with Roland brains. Hitting it on the bell or bow I got the same note. I would be happy to buy the Lemon if I could just get two outputs working for different notes. If it's working normally should I be able to see a signal from both outputs? I tried it with my eDrumin 4 and my old Alesis DM5. There was no signal from the second output on either.

While Roland cymbals output the piezo signal on both outputs, Lemon cymbals do not (at least not my 18" ride). The Ride 2 output only has the bell switch attached to the ring connection, and nothing on the tip. If I connected Ride 2 to separate input on my ED10 and set the pad type to Dual Zone Cymbal, there will be no signal when I hit the pad. However, if I press the bell, the 'AT' in the choke control does indeed light up.
