i wouldn't buy one personally. The occasional dip into the software is all i need and the computer is fine for that
I see your point, but for those who gig with it and don't have their laptop with them...

I’m intrigued by the physical controls more than the touchscreen. I’ve used the iOS version of the Control App and it’s fine, but on a day to day basis I’m using my iPad and Splashtop (similar to Apple Sidecar) to remote into my laptop and control both eDrumIn and Superior when needed.

I have a cheap midi controller box to control various knobs and macros on the mixer in Superior, and it’s a huge efficiency boost. Being able to map the various sliders and dials to the eDrumIn Control App would be awesome.

There is definitely a market for such a thing! I am certain. The only thing about asking here on the forums is some would see no need in their use-case scenario, and some would see it as a holy grail! I feel that most of the replies will be on polar opposite ends, lol.
Alesis Surge w/ 5 tom pads, an A2E kids 16" kick, 6 Alesis 10" 1-zone w/ choke cymbals, Lemon 12" 2-zone 2pc hihat, and a 15" 3-zone ride into an EDI8+EDI4+Surge module using SD3/SSD5.5 in Logic on a Mid-2015 MBP with Mac OS Sequoia.

Hi,

I would be defiantly interested with the following caveats:

1: Power for display from USB.
2: No DC power supply required. Currently I have no power at the drum set other than from the USB port from the computer sitting 20 feet away.
3: USB out to computer and display simultaneously so while I am sitting at the set not alone can I see/make changes I can hear them via drum software. EDIT: After some thought a USB hub could work as long as the display can connect to the ED computer at the same time then we are good.

If you could also create a mount for the display so that I can mount to the drum rails. But not a deal breaker. I could always find/make one.

Maybe not so easy to do on the display itself. So maybe an additional interface box on the ED that can do this?

I would not be interested. Once triggers are setup up, I hope to not mess with them. If I was on tour with an equipment budget My view would likely change.

However, from a marketing standpoint I could see that part of a system selling tons. If you could provide software for use on an Ipad or surface to remote control the software with say, wireless USB dongles. Then you can compete directly with classical drum brains.

Touchscreens are not cheap, and I would need to sell the device for at least $150 USD. Is there a market for this?

In all honestly, someone like me would not be too interested. It's going to be pricey for what it is (obviously not to the labor or your own cost, but to the average consumer), and I, for one, am not going to be reach over to use this on tour or in the middle of a show. If I have to, I'm probably in big trouble!

I already have a laptop next to me running Gig Performer, and an iPad, and at that price you could get an old iPad (or a good chunk of a newer one) that runs the app and lets you get your email as well. I'm very much an "ok, it works great, leave it alone" person with my drums, I just don't see me using it enough to warrant the price. I can use the iPad app, and I prefer to use it on my desktop as well because it's easy to organize my files and the like.

I think one of the big reasons I bought an eDrumin 10 is because I don't have to use a drum brain (to me, they're all inferior to a laptop and a good interface), can use whatever pads I want, and don't have to deal with things I don't need. I don't think that's your market, personally. I set up my kit (the edrum is wired through the rack) and play a show, one USB to the laptop running AD2 and SD3. Works amazingly well!!! No additions needed.

I know other will totally disagree- they're right, too, of course. Just my perspective.
