Compatibilty eDRUMin 8 and Roland VH-14D Hi-Hat

Post by Stakun »

Hello !
I didn't find any topic about this and nothing in the manual too.
Is the eDRUMin 8 compatible with Roland VH-14D Hi-Hat ?
Thanks :)

You can connect it to the USB host port of the eDRUMin 8, and its MIDI will be combined with the eDRUMin's MIDI, but that's it. The eDRUMin can not adjust any of its settings.

Also, bear in mind that, though the VH14 can be used a stand-alone MIDI device, the VH-14 does not generate all of the MIDI data that you get when coupled with a TD-50. For example, the TD-50 generates the positional data from the incoming analog waveform data sent to it from the VH-14, not the VH-14 itself, so you don't get all the articulations from the VH-14 alone.

Thanks for your answers guys.
So what is the best alternative ?
Roland VH-13 ? Or another brand ?
Thanks a lot !

The VH-10/11/13 are all well supported. I like the 13 best.
