Hi, I posted about a week ago in another thread but have heard nothing so I thought I’d try again. I was wondering about using the eDrumin with the rtom Black holes with their triggers they make specifically for them so that I could backline an acoustic kit at smaller shows so other drummers don’t have to play an ekit. I could also just use any kit I currently have to record etc. I’d need to get good e cymbals and hi hats too but for now I’m wondering about how these will work with the eDrumin. It would be great to have positional sensing on the snare. If I could get some guidance on this it would be great. Thanks!

Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
Re: Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
Their triggering system will likely work just fine with an eDRUMin, but I highly doubt it's compatible with positional sensing. If it was, they'd surely advertise it as such.
Re: Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
Thanks for your reply Rob! Looking forward to trying out the unit I ordered and exploring this whole new realm more.
So I’ll have to have a dedicated esnare drum rather than use those Rtom triggers. To be clear, the Roland digital snare won’t work with the eDrumin, (right?) so should I just get any center piezo snare out there? Any recs on that?

I was also wondering about the Millenium esnare that comes with the MPS 1000 but it appears it may be a side mounted trigger. Should I steer away from that?

Any thoughts about this Millenium esnare with the eDrumin and positional sensing functionality?
Re: Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
I can see the single side mounted sensor under the logo, so I would say positional sensing is a no go.
Re: Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
Thanks Rob. Can you let me know what the consensus is based on your testing and what others have reported about what the most realistic snare to use with the eDrumin seems to be? (Or point me to thread(s). I am new to the whole thing and will need to buy one so I’m kind of a blank slate. Thank you!

Re: Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
I just ordered an eDrumin to use with the BlackHole mesh heads and the corresponding BH triggers. For the snare, I'm using an older DDrum Clavia dual zone 12" snare...hoping this can do positional sensing.
Rob, Is there a list of triggers/heads that allow for positional sensing with eDrumin?
Overall, I'm hoping for better results than using the DDTI.
Thanks

Re: Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
Cool, I got the “Lemon 13” x 5” Mesh Black Sparkle Snare for Roland Kit” snare and have only messed around trying to set it up briefly so far. Seemed to have quite a hot spot in center. And positional sensing didn’t seem to really work. I know I need to acquaint more. Wondering what drum map I should try using? How are the Rtom black holes and triggers working? What VST are you using? I wanted to try out the Logic producer kits first but there’s a map for superior drummer so I’m wondering if I just need to get that for everything to play nice.
Re: Rtom blackhole heads & triggers w/eDrumin
I guess the last Rob's recommendation was ATV aD-S13 (3 head triggers) afair. It supports PS since 2.3.0.
I am sure if you search the forum for it you'll find it.
I bought one and I can confirm it works with PS. The most important however (for me) is that it has no center hotspot due to the 3 head trigger design.
