3-zone ride bell area

Post by monospace »

I’m using a Lemon 18”ride as a 3-zone trigger, so with separate input for the bell. Is it possible to change the size of the bell area in this kind of setup? The “hot” area for the bell is rather small (similar issue with the Roland CY-15R) making triggering it reliably a bit cumbersome.
Miscellaneous Roland triggers. ED-10 + ED-4. MacBook Pro (2015), 16G RAM, Big Sur. Superior Drummer 3. Logic Pro.

No. I have the 18" Lemon Ride and the bell triggering on mine is extremely reliable. Perhaps there are some quality control issues.

Hi Rob,

if you would setup the positional sensing for that cymbal, how would you do that?

First I tried to generate 2 areas on the pos sense indicator splitted by a small green bar.
Worked.

Than I tried to dial it in with just a black and green area on in the pos sense indicator.
Worked better, more reliable - kind of.

Have you tried something like that?

Greetings

There's a factory preset for that cymbal which probably already has positional sensing setup. I don't know how consistent those cymbals are manufactured, so what worked on my cymbal might not work on others.

ok, thanks!

Yap, your settings have nothing to do with mine...
I have way less gain ...
But, ok, so I set this up just to my personal needs and likings ... I will not work like a 600$ Roland digital ride but
I am quite satisfied with that 75$ thing and your module. I can use another articulation provided by SD3. :D
