I have been using an Alesis cymbal with an ED10 for over a year now, and it recently started causing compatibility issue errors in ED (I use the "Dual Zone Cymbal" trigger type). The issue seems to be transient, as often I can click on the trigger in ED window and the issue goes away, or I can power cycle the ED10s and sometimes it goes away (sometimes not). When the issue does show up, the ED GUI reports values like "0.16, 90" or "0.19, 84" when I hover over the trigger, although I have no idea what those values mean.
I will try a cable swap to ensure that I'm not suffering from a cable issue. But I'd like to understand if I have some hardware in the cymbal which is degrading and causing a circuit fault or something.
Any guidance on what the #s mean?
FWIW - I'm using firmware 2.0.0.36, and I've read the recommendation to disable compatibility check, but that setting does not seem to be sticky, at least not when I restart the ED GUI.
recurrent compatibility issue for cymbal
Re: recurrent compatibility issue for cymbal
Those value that you see when you hover the over the input show some debugging information for me. While I'm not going to describe what those numbers represent, I've noted them and thank-you for sharing.
Swapping cables is a good idea. Worn out and damaged pads can also give rise to compatibility issues. If you are in manual save mode, then you'll probably need to save after you apply the disable compatibility checkbox. And while you don't need to update your firmware, it's probably not a bad idea as there have been a lot of issues fixed since that firmware version.

Re: recurrent compatibility issue for cymbal
Thanks for the response Rob! I swapped the cable and updated to latest firmware (2.0.1.3) and so far no issues. Will post if I see anything noteworthy.
