Has anyone had their 80s Simmons SDS era pads working with the eDRUMin?
I have a set of Simmons SDS8 pads heading my way, and would like to use them to control drum plugins in Logic Pro.
Would be a great solution if eDRUMin can accept the SDS pads as a suitable trigger
Any help much appreciated - did a search but didn't see anything that answered the question specifically - Thx.
eDRUMin with Simmons 80s SDS era pads?
Re: eDRUMin with Simmons 80s SDS era pads?
I believe the Simmons were triggered via piezo, if so, eDRUMin will recognize the signal.
Send a pad to Rob and he'll come up with a preset!

You might suspect that the foam on an 80's trigger might have dried up a bit and have some crumbling. So maybe take a look and update (replace) the foam. You can always test them first before bothering with this step so you're not replacing foam on a broken trigger and replace the piezo or trigger instead.
Otherwise, if it's just yer basic piezo trigger, seems like it ought to work.

Well I should know next week - Pads and eDRUMin units are inbound!

No foam issues with 80s Simmons Pads - the piezo was glued directly to a plywood panel inside the drum shell.Vinito wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 12:11 pmYou might suspect that the foam on an 80's trigger might have dried up a bit and have some crumbling.
