I guess I should have written something about that in the notes.

Download the firmware archive and extract it to any location on your computer. While MIDI Expression is plugged in, run the script called 'UPDATE_FIRMWARE' found inside the ME_Firmware folder. Wait about 10 seconds for the device to finish rebooting itself and you're done.

hi rob,

i'm in the process of updating the firmware for my devices. i have three green, and three orange in the original design.

when i use the OSX terminal script to update, it doesn't give me an option for picking an orange label. so, i tried selecting another colour, but no success.

i did the update procedure the green ones, and these seem to be successful: i get the two light flashes when they are connected.

what can i do to update my orange ones?

thanks!

Wayne,

The original firmware for the device was identical for all colors, so besides the color of the plastic, nothing else is different between your green and orange units.

With the new firmware, I had to resort to using different firmware files so that each color would have its own unique MIDI Port name. Other than that, they are the same. For your orange devices, you can use whatever firmware you like--the different colors will just determine the name of the device's MIDI PORT.

If you plan to use the VST or forthcoming AU version of the control app, it's important that each device has a different port name or you might run into issues. This is not a problem if you are only going to be using the standalone control app.

As an aside, my recent customer survey has turned up a few significant issues that I need to address and I'll be releasing a new firmware update in the next week or two, so you might want to just wait until then.

Regards,
Rob
