Generic 10k ohm fader?

So interested in these products! Lots of advances in the last year!

I was wondering if I could create a simple fader with a 100mm 10k Ohm linear taper slide pot (fader) and wire it to a TRS cable to create a simple fader to use for the “automation quick access” feature in Logic Pro X?
I read on the forum that MIDI Expression ‘prefers’ a 10k Ohm linear-taper, so it seems reasonable. Thanks in advance. :D

I can't see why it wouldn't work.

This will absolutley work. Use a linear (not audio or log) taper pot. "Standard" wiring method would be wiper of the pot to tip of TRS connector.
