Does the Midi Expression iOS/Control app require a USB port to communicate with the MIDI expression I/O to edit/change pedal settings?
I read where the iOS Control version communicates Sysex
PDF pg25
Getting Connected
Because the iOS version and the Control Application communicates using System Exclusive MIDI
messages, there are several way in which they can connect to one another: over USB MIDI using
the camera connection kit, or Network MIDI, and even with midi cables connected to a 3rd party midi interface"
I was looking at using the midi expression I/O in standalone mode(with usb charger) with the iPad dock- 5 pin midi out to expression I/O-5 pin midi in(using the ME iOS Control app to adjust/edit pedal settings live) and the expression I/O-5 pin midi out to a midi patchbay then to out board gear.
Thanks in advance!
