MIDI Expression 2.7 is released

I’m pleased to announce the availability of MIDI Expression Control 2.7 which also bundles updated MIDI Expression firmware for all devices.

Snapshot Manager
This version of MIDI Expression Control comes with a new Snapshot Manager, allowing complete snapshots of your device’s configuration to be saved and loaded with a single click.

Refinements
While this release doesn’t pack a great number of new features, it contains several improvements, bug fixes, and performance optimizations. Here’s a quick list to give you an idea of what to expect.

• Improved velocity tracking and reduced jitter for Hihat / Note mode
• Improved behavior when hot-swapping pedals
• Improved communication protocol efficiency
• New Sidebar makes accessing pages settings more intuitive.
• Fine adjustments for Expression Curve controls.

New Hardware Generation
MIDI Expression hardware / software continue to evolve. As of March 2018, all MIDI Expression devices have been redesigned to incorporate full size USB B connectors that are soldered though the circuit boards making them extremely rugged.

Legacy Hardware
While this release supports all generations of MIDI Expression hardware, future versions will likely drop support for legacy hardware with mini-B connectors. These devices just don’t have enough program space available to add new features.
