Keyswitching questions

I like what I have read about the MIDI Expression so far and am trying to learn more.

I am curious about some of the capabilities. I would like to know what possibilities there are for using sustain and/or volume pedals to control keyswitches, so that while I am using my DAW I can handsfree change through my instrument's settings, such as my violins to staccato, legato, etc. using footpedals?

I'm guessing you are after a way to use a pedal to simultaneously change both the channel and transpose of a MIDI device, such as a keyboard or breath controller. This functionality is planned, but not implemented yet.

Currently you can use a pedal to increment and decrement the MIDI channel of a MIDI device, and there's also a function to use a pedal in combination with a MIDI device to change the amount of transpose. I hope that's helpful.

Thanks for the reply. Yes it helps.

I will probably get a Quattro in the future and hook up sustain pedals and my Yamaha FC 7 volume pedal to it. I would use the sustains to trigger keyswitches in Kontakt to change my instrument settings, and have the Yamaha work in place of the mod wheel. I think this should work. I definitely want to fine tune the Yamaha's response.

I have a breath controller already, the TEC. Great device. I don't use it enough. :)

I always love trying out new MIDI devices.
