Do you have the tracking number so I can look up information on your order?

I managed to find your order. It's really taking a long time. I'll give USPS a call and figure out what's going on.

I called. They 'said' they sent you a delivery notice on the 23rd. They said to just so to the post office and pick it up. You'll likely need to bring in some ID and it wouldn't hurt to have the tracking number with you as well.

I never received a notice. Can you please resend me the order email and tracking email communication. I can't seem to find anything on this order in my inbox.

Here's you tracking number: RA213336967TW

I would move fast because the post office doesn't typically like to hold onto unclaimed packages for more than two weeks.

Ok.

The tracking number does not work.
Would you please email me so I can have a direct conversation with you.
I need to know where this was shipped to.
I needed this half a month ago.
I am beyond frustrated.

I'd like to say that I've contacted this customer and have given him a refund as he requested. I'd also like to clear up some of the issues around this case.

When a purchase is made, a postal address confirmation is sent out, giving the user a chance to confirm it, or otherwise correct it. Also in this email is the order's tracking number and a link to a 17track which provides a comprehensive tracking service for international airmail, providing tracking information both from the originating country as well as the destination. The customer in question has his PayPal account / credit card associated with an email I can only assume he doesn't check, and as a result did not get this information.

The customer said the tracking number didn't work, and he's half right. As of October 2015, USPS has stopped publishing tracking information for Registered Airmail from certain countries. If you go directly to the USPS website and enter your tracking number, their system will say 'Not Found'. The tracking information, however, is available on their internal tracking system and if you call your local branch you will be able to get this information over the phone.

In this case, on behalf of the original poster, that's exactly what I did. I called USPS and gave them the tracking number and they promptly told me that they had tried to deliver the package on March 23rd, and left a delivery notice card. At this point I told the customer that he needed to go the post office and pick it up (although it appears that he never did).

In light of this issue, I'm going to make some changes to website and payment system. First, I will add information providing more detailed estimated shipping times based on data I've collected over the last few years as well as explain the situation with USPS in regards to Registered Air Mail.

Second, in the email sent to customers when they make a purchase, I will explain the situation with USPS (and a few other country's postal services). Also, I'll provide a search link that will bring up the address and phone number of their local post office making it as painless as possible to contact USPS to get the status of an order.

Unfortunately, these changes likely would not have prevented this current situation from arising, but I feel it's important to provide my customers with as much information as possible so that they can be well informed.

Regards,
Rob
