Hello,
I am considering purchasing a Midi Expression to use exclusively with an ipad mini 2. I have 2 things I want to do with it:
1. Use an expression pedal to raise and lower organ volume in Galileo Organ app
2. Raise/Lower volume in other apps such as Korg Module/bs-16i using the same expression pedal
Will a single Midi Expression work for both purposes? Will it work at all for even one of the purposes? I have not seen any videos regarding use with an ipad so I want to make sure it works before making a purchase.
I have not bought any expression pedal either for this. Are there any recommended expression pedals for use with the Midi Expression? I was thinking of a Yamaha FC7 but I'm not sure it works.
MIDI Expression with ipad?
Re: MIDI Expression with ipad?
I didn't reply right away because I was hoping others might chime in on their experiences with using MIDI Expression with iOS. I personally haven't tested with iOS yet, but I know others use that combination. I've ordered a Lightening Camera Connection kit today and I'll give it a good test when it arrives. Keep in mind that there is no Control Application available for iOS right now, but you wouldn't need that for your purposes anyways.

Rob

Thanks for replying!
Looking around through the forums after posting I found only one person that mentioned ME worked with Galileo and other ipad apps. Regardless, I'm going to wait until I get some feedback from you, Rob, on whether it works or not. Hopefully it will be flawless. If the ME is plug-and-play I don't think any sort of control app will be needed as long as the velocity curve is smooth throughout 1 -> 127.
Looking forward to hearing of your test results!

Re: MIDI Expression with ipad?
Got my lightning adapter today.
I tested on Android with an OTG adapter as well. Everything works as expected.

Re: MIDI Expression with ipad?
Ah! Wished I saw this video before, I would have purchased a Quattro instead of my brand new iO
That's so nice that it works directly with the iPad even without MIDI wires! Thanks for this wonderful product Rob! -- Alex / Satri
