Channel aftertouch

I have a fatar keybed with channel aftertouch and was wondering if i can somehow connect that too? I know theres the ability to use a pedal to send AT messages and fsrs in drum pedals to trigger notes, but what about using the keybeds aftertouch fsr to control AT over your device?

(Sorry for the new thread, i posted this question already but i suspect you didnt notice)

I'm not familiar with fatar products. You want the MIDI Expression to act of a controller processor for the keys?

Ah, sorry for the confusion, i just wanted to give some context..

Im just talking about connecting a fsr sensor to your device and generate monophonic aftertouch midi messages with the sensor. Its already possible to generate AT midi with an expression pedal using your device, and since i know its also possible to connect a fsr and generate velocity sensitive notes i wondered if a fsr could be used to control AT..

Yes, you would use 'Note Mode' for triggering velocity sensitive notes, and then use the transformer to change the notes to Channel Pressure.

But wouldn't that only trigger one note, transform it and send also only one AT message?.. What about continuous control like after touch on a keyboard that continuously responds to the applied pressure? What about the hihat pedal position information, could that be transformed and used effectively like a continuous aftertouch control? I was under the assumption that hihat pedals use a fsr sensor thats why i thought of connecting a fsr sensor to your device since i thought its supported already in the form of a hihat pedal..

In this thread someone was also asking about a fsr sensor that they use as an expression pedal.. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2056&p=14200&hilit=Fsr#p14200

Could i do the same and set it to recognize the fsr as an expression pedal and then just use the channel pressure mode?

Of course you could just use the Channel Pressure mode. That was too obvious, so I assumed you were looking from thing similar to velocity sensitive notes.

Ok thats awesome.. One more thing, do you suggest i should incorporate a resistor or can i just connect the fsr without the paralel resistors?

No need for an sort of parallel resistor. There are wiring diagrams in the back of the manual.
