Sustain pedal and latching footswitch

Hi,
I have the Quattro. I saw in the FAQ that you can use an adapter like the Hosa to connect two sustain pedals to a single TRS socket on the Quattro.
I was wondering if you can also use a latching footswitch (such as the Boss Fs-5L) instead of one of the sustain pedals in the pair? Would it be recognised?
It would be interesting to use a latching footswitch to switch my DAW configuration between rhythm and lead guitar signal chains, and use the Hosa adapter to double up inputs, so as to leave ports free on the Quattro (as I have expression pedals too).
Thanks in advance for any advice.
