Expression Quattro can not calibrate

I'm using 4 moog ep-3 expression pedals with the Quattro. They are practically un-usable with this device. It is reading them in the plug-in and stand alone, but the sweep is all over the place. When I do a full sweep of the pedal, it jumps from 127-0 then 0-127 in one full motion. I'm using it with ableton and trying to use the pedals to control "midi-learn" functions with massive software synth. Hard to explain this, basically, I can get the pedal to sweep, and it is controlling the effect parameter, but is very chaotic and jumps from the extremes multiple times during one sweep motion. Also, some of the pedals do not work at all. Do I need to change the CC value? (It's set to 4) do I need to change the channel number for each individual pedal? I have been reading the Quattro manual, and haven't found any solutions to my problem there. The calibration function is useless. All this is on MacBook Pro Yosemite OS X. When I use my novation launch control midi controller to try to do this same exact thing, assigning parameters via midi learn to certain knobs, works just fine...
I have attempted to install the latest firmware. I'm 99% sure that the firmware update was successful, I have the opaque blue Quattro, so I see no light. I ran the script, and it opened up the teeny app and appeared to be successful.
The pedals and cables have been tested using other devices and work just fine. Any ideas would be appreciated. Just got this device yesterday and am pretty excited to be able to use it...thanks!
