Control Application plugin with multiple projects open simultaneously

If I have two projects open at the same time in my DAW (Studio One), and I have the Control Application plugin loaded with different settings in each project, will it work correctly when I switch between projects? Or do I have to fully close one project before opening another one? I haven't bought the MIDI Expression interface yet so I can't test this.

It probably depends on the DAW, but I think you would most likely need to close one project before opening the other.
