firmware problems

Post by dongzo »

Hi there.

I just tried to update firmware on a blue and yellow midi expression singles.
Both died in the attempt using the midi expression app.
No more light in the device when connection to USB, and they are not recognized with the midi app anymore.
When I try to get the old firmware back I just get the message "Please press the reset button on yout Teensy to upload your sketch. Auto-reboot only works if the Teensy is running a previous sketch."

Is there any way to reset the midi-expression device?

Need at least one of them tomorrow...so I really hope there is a solution.

cheers

**** update ****
after disassembly of the unit...pressing some sort of reset button...trying 25 times...the update finally worked. Strange....
At least I got one unit working now :)

I've pulled the update for now. I'm looking into this. What OS are you running? And do you know what version of firmware you were running before? And lastly, what version of firmware are you trying to revert to?

Im running osx 10.9.4

I dont know the firmware version that was in the units before my upgrade attempt.
I dont know what firmware I was trying to revert to...but Its the only one i could get from the website...modified 2/4-2014...in the folder "ME Firmware OSX OLD"
The only reason for reverting the firmware was because the devices died after getting a Download Error message.
After several physical resets and retrying the update just as many times, things suddently worked. No idea why....but im happy now :)
Maybe it would be a good idea to have the latest firmware available as a seperate download in case the build-in firmware updater fails.

Glad you get it up and running. I have now put the latest firmware packages as separate downloads.
